Booklet 8: Historic Trinity's Floor Tiles 81 pages
The floors of the nave under the pews are covered with acoustical cork to soften the sound in the
church. The aisles of the nave, the floor of the narthex, sacristies, chapels and chancel are covered
with slate flooring, that contains over 125 ceramic designed tiles throughout. Most of the tiles were
designed and fabricated by the Pewabic Pottery of Detroit on East Jefferson. All of these tiles
emphasize the following: all of God's creation as created by Him and used by man in humankind's
service, are used in worship of the one true God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All creation
worships God.
This book on Historic Trinity Floor Tiles was photographed and compiled by Werner Stuecher. The
book shows each tile and gives an interpretation of its symbolic meaning.
