CHANCEL BELLS

The Chancel Bells are a gift to Historic Trinity from Monsignor Hickey. They are from the 1880ís and from the Cathedral in New Orleans, La. The chancel bells are rung by an acolyte as the Pastor enters the chancel towards the altar, during the Introit in the worship service. In the old cathedrals this was done to let the people throughout the church know the Worship Service was now beginning.
