Question and Answer (Q & A) Tours of the Cathedral are given periodically.

Women’s Retreat will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

Lenten Services-  Mid-day Lenten services will be held each Wednesday at 12:00 pm throughout Lent. Join us for a free-will offering catered lunch following the service.  Ash Wednesday will be honored on March 5, 2025 with Communion worship at 12pm and 7pm, each with the imposition of ashes following the service.

Palm Sunday- Palm Sunday is April 13, 2025 with services at 9:00 and 10:30 am.

Maundy Thursday- Thursday, April 17, 2025.  7pm.

Good Friday– The Tre-Ore services- come to one.  Come to all.  12pm. 12:45pm.  1:30pm.  The Tenebrae Service is at 7pm.  April 18, 2025.

Easter Sunday is celebrated like no other here at Historic Trinity.  Sunrise Service with Communion is 7:30am.  Festival Communion Services at 9:00am and 11:00am. April 20, 2025.

Freedom Festival – June 29, 2025 Join us for worship as we thank God for all of our freedoms. This year, as in years past, the Saint Andrew’s Bagpipe Band will join us in in making our celebration extra special. Services will be held at 9:00 am and 10:30 am on Sunday, June 29, 2025.

Lutherfest – TBD 2025 All Historic Trinity members and friends are invited to this FUN(D) filled fellowship event. Festivities will be held under a large tent in the southwest parking lot. We offer a strolling supper, Lutheran beverages and entertainment. We also have Luck of the Draw and Live Auction items available. All proceeds will go to community outreach programs sponsored by Historic Trinity Incorporated (HTI), a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation. Reservations are required. Please call the 313-567-3100 to make your reservations.

Reformation Sunday – October 26, 2025 – Join us we celebrate the Protestant Reformation which brought the church’s focus back to God’s free gift of salvation in Jesus Christ. The Gospel is the same now as it was then, even as the church’s work continues through the ministry of Word and Sacrament.

Thanksgiving Service is held at 7:00 pm on Thanksgiving Eve

The Detroit Lutheran Singers Concert- Sunday, December 8, 2024, 3pm.  Tickets may be purchased on line at www.detroitlutheransingers.com or at the door.

Downtown Lutheran Advent Services will be held on Wednesdays during Advent.  This year we will have service at 12:00 noon with lunch following the service and 6:30 P.M. with dinner preceding the service at 5:30P.M. Join us as we prepare our hearts for the joyous celebration of our Savior’s birth!

The Lutheran Choralaires Concert  Please join the Lutheran Choralaires as they celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ in song!  This event is a free will offering. For more information, please contact Paul Kienman at 248-890-4405.

The Christmas Open House & Market will take place on Saturday December 13, 2025 from 10am-3pm.  Come and view our beautiful Christmas decorations: 260+ Creches from around the world, 90+ Nutcrackers on display in the Dau Library, a multitude of Angels and many beautifully decorated Christmas trees. In our Sanctuary you will find our oldest and largest hand painted Nativity used at Historic Trinity since the late 1800’s. You won’t be able to miss our 22 foot Christmas tree with it’s 18,185 lights! The Christmas Market will offer Christmas goodies, crafts and gifts for purchase. Refreshments will be provided. Enjoy a crisp afternoon in the ‘D’ combined with a tour of our beautiful church.

The German Language Christmas Service is scheduled for December 14, 2025 at 4:00 pm.  Rev. Bugbee will lead the German Language worship service and the GBU Saxonia-Rheingold Gemischter Chor will lift their voices in praise to our newborn King! Please join us as we continue to remember and honor our German heritage and founding fathers as we celebrate the birth of our dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Christmas Tours are weekdays from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm – or other times by special appointment from November 15th thru December 17th. Admission is free. Group tours can be arranged. Phone the church to make arrangements for group tours.

Christmas at Historic Trinity. Gain an insight on the many glorious and fun-filled events at Historic Trinity during Advent and Christmas. Come and view our beautiful Christmas decorations: 260+ Creches from around the world, 90+ Nutcrackers on display in the Dau Library, a multitude of Angels and many beautifully decorated Christmas trees. In our Sanctuary you will find our oldest and largest hand painted Nativity. This Nativity has adorned our Sanctuary since the late 1800’s. You also won’t be able to miss our 22 foot Christmas tree alit with 18,185 Christmas lights!  This year, we add to our displays a 13 piece life-sized Nativity on the stage of the Huegli Auditorium.  ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’! 

The Eve of Christmas Eve Service is held on December 23 at 7:00 pm.

Three Christmas Eve Services are held on December 24th. At 6:00 pm – Candlelight Service; at 8:00 pm & 10:00 pm – Festival Services with Communion and the Historic Trinity Cathedral Choir accompanied by a brass ensemble.

Christmas Day worship is December 25th at 10:00 am with Communion.

New Year’s Eve Festival Communion Service is at 5:00 p.m. on December 31st. This is one of the most popular services of the entire year. End the Year at this beautiful worship service.
