Pastor Eisinger grew up in Iowa in the Mississippi river town of Clinton. He graduated from Clinton High School and then attended Iowa State University where he earned a B.S degree in Urban Planning. While at Iowa State he married Vicki Borgstrom, a young woman from the congregation he grew up in. From Iowa State they moved to Ft. Wayne, IN where pastor attended Concordia Theological Seminary. He graduated in 1983. While in Ft. Wayne they gave birth to a daughter, Alison. Pastor served his vicarage year at St. John in Mt. Prospect, IL.
Pastor’s first Call was to Bethlehem congregation in Engadine in Michigan’s UP. It was there that their second child, Jacob, was born. In the winter of 1986 Pastor and family moved to southwest Iowa where he served a dual parish—St. John, Honey Creek and Trinity, Persia. In 1992 his wife, Vicki, went to be with her Lord after battling complications from a brain tumor. In 1994 Pastor and children moved to Elko, Nevada where Pastor served the congregation of St. Mark and two preaching stations—Wells and Eureka, NV. While in Elko, Pastor earned his pilot’s license and would fly to conduct worship and attend various meetings elsewhere in the state. In 2000 Pastor married Teryl Schriner. In 2003 Pastor accepted the Call to Holy Cross, Warren, MI. where he served until his retirement on July 24, 2022—39 years to the day of his ordination at Bethlehem, Engadine. That October Pastor joined the retired pastoral staff here at Trinity.
Pastor and Teryl enjoy traveling, spending time with their family, both immediate and extended! Daughter Janna lives in Royal Oak. Alison, her husband Josh, and their three children, along with Jacob, his wife Alyssa, and their three children live in Elko. Pastor also enjoys spending time in his yard, riding his bicycle, and piddling around in his workshop.
